Ieva Jokubaviciute

Lithuanian pianist Ieva Jokubaviciute is not only heard in recital and as a soloist but also shares the stage as a committed chamber musician. She regularly appears in concert and at festivals in the US, Europe, and in South America. In June of 2005, she made her Chicago Symphony debut at the Ravinia Festival under the baton of James Conlon. She has recently appeared at the New Paths in Music contemporary music festival, as a guest artist on National Public Radio’s Performance Today, and in solo recitals in Vilnius, Lithuania, Boston, Chicago, and at the Freer Gallery in Washington DC. Early in 2006/7 Ieva Jokubaviciute toured with Musicians from Marlboro, gave recitals in New York City and Chicago, made her Brazilian orchestral debut in Rio de Janeiro, and collaborated in concert with the Čiurlionis String Quartet in Lithuania. Her newly formed piano trio—Trio Cavatina with Harumi Rhodes and Priscilla Lee—will be making its New York City debut with concerts at the New School and at Merkin Hall followed by its Boston debut at Jordan Hall this spring. Ieva Jokubaviciute has also appeared as a soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, The Gratz University Orchestra and the Lithuanian National Symphony. She has participated in international music festivals including Marlboro, Ravinia, Prussia Cove, Taos, the Conservatoire Américaine de Fontainbleau and Festival de musique de chamber at La Lointaine in France. Earning degrees from the Curtis Institute of Music and from Mannes College of Music, her principal teachers have been Seymour Lipkin and Richard Goode.
