Join us in celebrating Victoria Paterson’s 'Big 5-0' birthday with Tintinnabuli, an evening of music inspired by the sounds of bells. The program includes motets by Palestrina, as well as Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten by Arvo Pärt. There will be music by Robert Paterson, including the New York premiere of The Bell, with text by Hans Christian Andersen, and the New York premiere of his choir piece, Graffiti Canons.

Your ticket includes complimentary drinks & cake directly following the performance!

The program is inspired by a compositional style created by Arvo Pärt, introduced in his Für Alina (1976), and used again in Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten (1977). This simple style was influenced by the composer's mystical experiences with chant music.
